Q&A

Embroidery is the term used to describe decorating fabrics with needle and thread.  It can be used to stitch pictures, text, or decorative accents on cloth or other materials.  Machine embroidery is an embroidery process that uses a sewing machine or embroidery machine to create patterns on textiles.  Machine embroidery is used commercially in product branding, corporate advertising and adornment of uniforms.
Today’s industrial or commercial embroidery machines are computerised and have multiple needles (and sewing heads) to allow the stitching of multiple coloured threads to textiles without the need to change threads for each colour change.  The computerised information given to the embroidery machine provides all necessary information for the machine to stitch a particular design, the order of colours to be stitched, and when to trim threads.
Machine embroidery can be applied to any soft fabric that will fit under the needle of the machine.  Basic items such as shirts, caps and jackets are straight-forward.  Many accessories are now available to facilitate the embroidery of items once considered impossible or impracticable to embroider by machine – including shoes, belts, bags, horse blankets and large items like curtains.
Well, yes and no.  Astech Solutions provides training so that you will properly learn machine operation including machine threading, tension adjustment, and control panel functions.  We will also train you on embroidery placement, hooping techniques etc.  Once you are equipped with these skills, then yes, you will be able to load the machine with the garment(s) to be embroidered, press the start button and let the machine do the rest.  Commercial Embroidery machines such as the Avancé have automatic stitching routines that generally do not require any operator intervention until the design stitching is complete.
